FORGET THE SNOWMAN. FEAR THE CAILLEACH.

In Scottish Gaelic folklore the Cailleach Bheur is the old hag of winter: blue-faced, white-haired and older than the hills she is said to have shaped. She rules the dark half of the year, from Samhain until Bealtaine.

Wherever she strikes the ground with her staff, the earth freezes hard. She herds the wild deer across the high glens and calls up the storms that close in on the coast each winter.

This is the Cailleach Christmas jumper from the Forget The Pumpkin Christmas range by Wispling Press: winter folklore monsters in a bold woodcut style, for anyone who'd rather a darker Christmas.
